Any post production workflow must embrace a rock solid scientific foundation to ensure that the colors the mastering artist is looking at are precise. In simple terms, if the mastering artist - colorist - asks their software of choice (in our case, DaVinci Resolve Studio) to show a specific color, the reference display must reproduce those exact colors. This process of getting the displays calibrated to set standards (for the vast majority of motion pictures today, that standard is ITU-R BT.1886) can be quite tricky and it's extremely easy to do incorrectly.
To get rid of that uncertainty, I have deviced a flawless measurement system for all the displays we use at Mionwang. This system uses the industry standard i1d3 probe that has been corrected with a spectroradiometer for each display technology that we use and a completely isolated system which accurately measures the entire color pipeline directly from DaVinci Resolve to the reference display.
Attention to even the most minute details is where our services excel. We take pride in our obsession with perfection at every step of any production. That is why we have established and meticulously maintain this rock-solid scientific foundation that consistently supports the creative and artistic minds involved. Therefore, and for the sake of transparency and trust, we also publish our display calibration reports here.
NOTE: that rec. 709 report really is rec. 1886 but rec.709 is more recognizable. Besides, it's the same gamut anyway - only the tone curve is different.
